Senior Public Relations Account Executive

FOVNDRY seeks a Public Relations Senior Account Executive to join our Rockville, MD team. This is a hybrid in-person/remote position. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and eager communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced, agency environment; is proven in media relations and the day-to-day project management of essential PR initiatives; and is experienced in managing client accounts and providing exceptional client service.

This role will support a variety of clients and industries, with a focus on B2B, consumer services, and real estate and placemaking.

• Manage assigned client relationships with PR services and media relationships independently, earning trust through consistent follow-through and sound communications judgment
• Lead day-to-day client interactions and projects for assigned accounts, keeping teams, timelines, and coverage trackers on track
• Lead PR tactics and/or campaigns end-to‑end with minimal direction, remaining resourceful and filling gaps where ambiguity or inexperience exists
• Manage day-to-day media relations/media requests for assigned clients and FOVNDRY alike
• Employ and maintain strong media relations to shape and control communications that are in line with overall account and company objectives
• Maintain and actively grow a relevant media list and reporter relationships within client verticals
• Anticipate story opportunities and potential issues before they elevate, proactively driving story angles and media opportunities for FOVNDRY and assigned accounts across a variety of industries
• Participate in and lead internal planning meetings, brainstorm sessions, and the development of integrated communications strategies, bringing informed insights and a point of view to planning, not just logistics
• Apply holistic strategic thinking to communications recommendations, extending beyond earned media
• Write pitches, press releases, bylined articles, talking points, briefing documents, blog copy, and other content that is accurate, proofed, and polished with minimal revision needed
• Work with cross‑functional teams to develop client content in support of initiatives across paid and organic channels
• As needed, handle day-to‑day social media campaign management (content generation, interacting with community in real time, tracking metrics, etc.)
• Communicate clearly and proactively with clients and internal teams, documenting work so nothing falls through the cracks
• Stay on top of industry trends and continually seek training and education in new skills and tools related to your work

• 6–7 years of experience supporting PR efforts in a cross‑functional environment; prior agency experience strongly preferred
• Experience across B2B, consumer services, and real estate/placemaking accounts
• BA or BS in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a liberal arts discipline with a strong writing foundation
• Knowledge of AP style guidelines required
• Established relationships with and thorough understanding of the local media landscape required
• An understanding of the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of current online/digital technology and social media
• Exceptional communication (written and verbal), relationship‐building skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize, be accountable in meeting deadlines, and a willingness to take ownership

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually, based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
