Position SummaryRecruiting to fill a Marketing Specialist position. This position is located at Oakhill Correctional Institution Product Development Center in Oregon, WI. This position develops, coordinates and implements marketing and design elements and collateral for external and internal Bureau of Correctional Enterprises (BCE) customers. These elements include a range of marketing materials to enhance or increase the public image, awareness, and interest in customers’ organizations and purchase of their products and services.
This position requires combining knowledge of customers, their products and services, and their production with marketing, promotional, and public relations skills and computer graphic, website development and management, social media and video collateral development. This position will work with BCE workers on the PDC promotions team to assist in developing collateral, and share knowledge to enhance their skills and abilities to help meet the BCE mission.
Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 07-04 with a starting pay of $21.70 to $35.76. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period of one year is required.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre‑employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre‑employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is eligible for remote work up to 3 days/week. Final schedule will be determined upon hire.

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
- Using marketing techniques to promote brand, products, and services. Examples might include digital literature, social media content, graphic design, video production, etc.
- Using marketing and graphic design software
- Leading and/or overseeing the work of others (e.g. training, coaching, mentoring, assigning duties, reviewing work, etc.)
- Writing professional correspondence such as press releases, email messaging to customer groups, social media content, newsletters, etc.
- Using digital content creation such as photography, photo editing, videography, video editing, and other digital communications tools.
