REMOTE VOLUNTEER MARKETING COMMITTEE MEMBER — NONPROFIT GOVERNANCEAdvise Believe in Me’s board and leadership on brand, marketing, communications, audience development, and outreach strategies that support youth and young people.
AboutThe Role
The Marketing Committee is a volunteer governance and advisory committee supporting Believe in Me and its programs, including scholarships, iLevelUP, Cougs 4 Kids, community partnerships, and Legacy Lounge. Members provide strategic guidance rather than serving as day-to-day social media or production staff.
Responsibilities- Advise on organization-wide marketing, brand architecture, communications, audience strategy, and annual priorities.
- Review plans, budgets, campaign performance, risks, and resource needs.
- Help distinguish program identities while maintaining a coherent Believe in Me organizational story.
- Provide expertise in marketing, communications, public relations, digital strategy, research, creative services, partnerships, or media.
- Connect the organization with appropriate professional, university, employer, alumni, and community networks.
- Support committee recruiting, meeting preparation, recommendations, and documented follow-through.
- Promote accessible, inclusive, ethical, privacy-conscious, and evidence-based communications.
- Respect board-approved policies, confidentiality, and conflict-of-interest requirements.
Senior or experienced professionals in marketing, communications, brand strategy, public relations, advertising, digital media, analytics, audience research, creative leadership, partnerships, or nonprofit governance. Committee or board experience is helpful but not required.
TIME AND LOCATIONRemote participation is available. Expect approximately 2–4 hours per month, including scheduled committee meetings and occasional preparation or project work. A dependable ongoing commitment is requested.
IMPACT & SUPPORTYour strategic guidance will help Believe in Me reach students, families, volunteers, donors, alumni, educators, employers, and community partners more effectively. Members receive orientation, governance materials, program context, meeting materials, and staff or board liaison support.
