Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing
The University of New Mexico's Athletics Department seeks an Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing. This position will oversee and execute marketing, promotions, ticket revenue generation and gameday experience for Softball and Volleyball. As well as lead all efforts of our football fan tailgate, Louie Lane on gamedays. Sport responsibilities are/could be subject to change.
Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Executing the creation and implementation of marketing plans and gameday "run of show" with an aggressive focus on improving attendance and revenue as well as the gameday experience for Lobo fans.
- In charge of the planning and execution of Louie Lane Tailgate area for Football.
- Will help manage a team of 10-15 student workers.
- Creates scripts and "run of show" for game day operations for Softball, Volleyball and plays a role in the creation of scripts and marketing plans for other sports as assigned.
- Assists with designing and implementing marketing collateral, working with the Assistant Athletic Director of Creative Services on the overall brand for UNM Athletics.
- Works alongside the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing on strategies and works with key university constituents on campus to market the lobo brand effectively.
- Plays a key role in dictating and executing UNM Athletics social media strategy.
- Has regular meetings with Tickets, Lobo Club and Playfly Sports Properties to market the Lobo Brand in all areas effectively.
- Plays a vital role in email marketing campaigns to sell tickets.
- Plays a large role in App production and marketing strategies.
- In charge of the Lil Lobo Kid's Club.
- In charge of managing community service and donation requests.
Conditions of Employment
- If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established experience with annual goal setting and successful completion. Leadership experience with a drive to make the people around them better. Demonstrated public speaking skills and a good self-starter. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of colleagues, co-workers, and constituents. Strong music computer background (Sound Director, Click Effects, etc.). Forward thinker and willing to push the limits of what can be done.
Ability to work well in high stress and fast pace environment and good at making decisions in the moment.
