PR Assistant Account Executive

Recently named Tech Agency of the Year and one of the Best Agencies in the US by PRovoke Media, PAN Communications is looking for a standout Assistant Account Executive to support integrated public relations programs for its B2B technology clients, particularly within the cybersecurity, health-tech, martech, fintech, AI and IoT spaces.

Core Responsibilities:

• Proactively own administrative duties across full client roster
• Conduct daily client/competitor news scans, flagging coverage to their teams
• Build media lists, accurately identifying new contacts, flagging trends and proposing proactive angles
• Participate in team discussions around new angles and opportunities, and research independently to grow your knowledge of media relations best practices and client industries
• Participate in weekly client calls to grow communication and relationship-building skills
• Support AE/SAE in media outreach to select trade and/or vertical press for news announcements. Over time, gain exposure to pitch drafting aimed at securing briefings, coverage, email Q&As, and bylines
• Master "shells" of briefing materials including templates, bios, recent articles, etc.
• Review Prof Nets/Connectively daily and flags relevant opportunities to the team
• Support drafting of speaking and award submissions with oversight from account managers
• Showcase an increasing knowledge of your client's industry and products by asking critical questions, researching independently and producing increasingly accurate and impactful work

Preferred

Skills:

• Prior experience working within an agency setting, preferably supporting clients in the B2B tech or healthcare industries
• Completing tasks on time and provide regular updates to team members & managers on the status of projects/deliverables
• Asking proactive questions and researching independently to fill gaps in knowledge
• Experience tracking speaking or awards calendars, successfully monitoring for relevant submission deadlines and updating trackers, sending proactive regular recap emails with in-progress opportunities and flagging deadlines internally
• Experience conducting relevant research/recommendations for followers, engagement opportunities, influencers, etc. and assisting with social reporting
• Experience supporting client content development, finding opportunities to draft short-form content including blogs, commentary, speaking/awards submissions
• Experience managing social calendars, including owning or assisting with scheduling posts via client’s platform of choice
• Successfully managing workload across five client accounts/brands

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 months of applicable PR experience
• B.S./B.A. in public relations, marketing, communications, or related field
• Ideal candidates will be located in the San Francisco Bay Area; candidates in other Pacific Time Zones who meet the hiring criteria will also be considered for fully remote positions
