Celebrate MiLIFE (MiLIFE for short) is a mental health nonprofit based in Wayne County. We help the people in our community find resources, celebrate their resilience, bring wellnes initiatives into workplaces and senior citizen housing, and host substance-free social events.
The RoleWe are looking for a highly organized, creative, and motivated Community Outreach Intern to join our team for the Fall semester with a potential for extending. In this role, you will work directly with our leader to help plan, promote, and execute local community events, as well as connect with local leaders. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world experience in event logistics, grassroots marketing, and community networking.
Key Responsibilities- Community Representation:
Attend local networking events, chamber meetings, and community gatherings on behalf of MiLIFE to build relationships with community leaders and local businesses. With ample training amd guidance, this will be a fun way to make a difference. - Brand Advocacy:
Actively pitch our mission and upcoming events to potential vendors and partners out in the field. - Social Media Support:
Assist in capturing content at events and creating engaging social media graphics and sponsor spotlights. - Event Coordination:
Support detailed logistics, spreadsheets, and day-of coordination for our local events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly personable & comfortable walking into a room of professionals, shaking hands, and striking up conversations.
- A highly organized mindset with the ability to track multiple details at once.
- Basic familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and basic design tools (like Canva) is a plus.
- A self-starter attitude who thrives in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
- Must have reliable transportation, a personal computer, and a smartphone.
- Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing major is a plus but not required.
- Stipend:
This internship includes a $200/month stipend intended to offset the cost of using your personal equipment (laptop/phone) and occassional driving/gas expenses. - Academic Credit:
While we do not directly grant academic credit, we highly encourage students to apply for academic credit through your College's internship programs. We are fully committed to supporting this process and will gladly complete any required employer evaluations, tracking, or paperwork required by the college.
- Remote / Hybrid (mostly working from home, with on-site requirements for event days and networking).
- Approximately 5-10 hours per week. Flexible schedule to accommodate classes.
