Director of Events

Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry Phoenix, AZ

The Director of Events is a full-time, hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a portfolio of events, including conferences, fundraisers, networking programs, and member engagement activities that support the Chamber's mission and strategic priorities. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing event concepts, managing timelines and budgets, securing venues and vendors, overseeing registration and attendee communications, and coordinating onsite logistics.

The Director of Events will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design impactful programs, secure sponsor ships, and ensure high-quality experiences for members and stakeholders. The role also requires tracking event performance metrics, preparing post-event reports, and continuously improving event operations and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong event planning and event management skills, including experience organizing conferences, meetings, and large-scale programs.
  • Demonstrated budgeting and financial management abilities to develop, monitor, and report on event budgets and revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in sales or sponsorship development, with the ability to build relationships and secure event partners and supporters.
  • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment, collaborating in person in Phoenix, AZ and remotely as needed.
  • Prior experience in association, nonprofit, government affairs, or business advocacy environments is beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in events management, business, communications, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with event management platforms, CRM systems, and standard office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar).
