About the Peninsula Women’s Chorus

The Peninsula Women’s Chorus is an award‑winning ensemble dedicated to artistic excellence, innovative programming, and the celebration of women’s voices. Through performances, commissions, recordings, and community engagement, PWC uplifts choral music written for treble voices and fosters connection, creativity, and belonging. Our singers, staff, and board work collaboratively to advance our mission and share the transformative power of choral music with audiences across the Bay Area and beyond.

Position

Summary

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports PWC’s visibility, storytelling, and audience engagement. Guided by the strategic direction set by the Board, Artistic Director, and Director of Operations—and supported by the Marketing & Communications Chair—the Coordinator implements day‑to‑day marketing activities that promote concerts, programs, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement.

This part‑time role is ideal for a creative, organized communicator who enjoys collaboration, values the arts, and thrives in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities Content Creation & Storytelling
  • Draft engaging content for social media, newsletters, website updates, season brochures, concert postcards, concert programs, and promotional materials.
  • With the Marketing and Communications Chair, develop branding for each season.
  • Capture photos and short videos at rehearsals, concerts, and events.
  • Create simple graphics using Canva or similar tools.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar aligned with PWC’s concert season and marketing plan.
Digital Marketing & Website
  • Execute routine social media, email, and website activity.
  • Update website content (concert listings, singer stories, program notes, news updates).
  • Track basic analytics and share insights with staff and the Marketing & Communications Chair.
Communications & Outreach
  • Support email marketing campaigns, including drafting content and managing subscriber lists.
  • Assist with press releases, media outreach, and community announcements.
  • Share PWC events through local arts calendars, community groups, and partner organizations.
  • Organize ad shares with other organizations.
Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with staff and board leadership to ensure messaging aligns with artistic and strategic goals.
  • Participate in regular check‑ins with the Marketing & Communications Chair for guidance and alignment.
  • Coordinate with designers, photographers, and contractors as needed, communicating in advance about specific needs and following up on deliverables.
  • Maintain organized digital asset libraries (photos, videos, logos, templates).
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related fields (internships and volunteer experience welcome).
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic design software.
  • Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, Illustrator).
  • Highly organized, reliable, and comfortable working collaboratively.
  • Interest in choral music, performing arts, or community‑based arts organizations.
  • Ability to attend occasional evening or weekend concerts and events.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Photography or video editing experience.
  • Comfort engaging with singers, audience members, and community partners.
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication abilities.
Compensation
  • Salary range: $25-32/hr commensurate with experience..
  • Flexible schedule; remote work possible except for concerts and events.
