The Marketing & Communications Specialist supports the development, execution, and implementation of integrated marketing and communications initiatives that advance organizational goals and promote programs, services, events, advocacy efforts, partnerships, and fundraising activities. This position serves as a key production and implementation resource for the department, providing hands-on support in graphic design, content creation, digital marketing, campaign execution, event promotion, accessibility, and brand management.
The DAAA Marketing & Communications Specialist strengthens organizational capacity by expanding hands-on support for graphic design, content production, digital communications, event promotion, campaign implementation, and brand consistency. The role improves turnaround time and execution quality while allowing communications leadership to focus on strategic planning, executive communications, media relations, and organizational priorities.
Responsibilities- Schedule, publish, and monitor content across social media, website, email marketing, and other digital channels; support basic analytics and reporting.
- Write, edit, proofread, and produce audience-centered content; support marketing and communications campaigns from concept through deployment. Writing support includes (but not limited to): newsletters, op-eds, editing, annual report content, and similar communications work.
- Design branded print and digital collateral, including flyers, brochures, advertisements, presentations, social media graphics, signage, newsletters, and campaign visuals.
- Develop event communications materials, support promotional timelines, and coordinate deliverables for events, outreach activities, and partner initiatives.
- Maintain brand consistency and support clear, inclusive, accessible communications aligned with readability and ADA/WCAG best practices.
- Manage content across social media, website, email platforms, and other digital channels; assist with scheduling, publishing, audience outreach, and basic reporting.
- Produce branded flyers, brochures, ads, presentations, signage, graphics, newsletters, and promotional collateral; maintain templates and creative assets.
- Develop written, visual, and multimedia content for public awareness, advocacy, fundraising, programs, events, and community engagement.
- Coordinate communications, deliverables, promotional timelines, and materials for agency events, conferences, outreach activities, press events, and partner initiatives.
- Brand & Accessibility:
Ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, readability, usability, and inclusive communication practices across materials. - Department support:
Maintain content calendars, communications plans, project timelines, shared assets, campaign records, performance reports, and related documentation. - Other duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, graphic design, digital media, or a related field; demonstrated experience creating multi-channel content and supporting campaigns, events, outreach, or public-facing communications.
Working Requirements:
