AEO and Analytics Specialist

Sol Comms, an award-winning integrated communications agency for startups and scale-ups at the intersection of corporate and consumer communications, is seeking an AEO / Analytics Specialist. In this role, you'll help our clients earn visibility and citations across the AI-driven search landscape, from answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews to the search fundamentals that still anchor modern SEO.

You'll bring a strong foundation in search and analytics, then build it into forward-looking, PR-informed strategies that help clients get discovered, quoted, and cited by both people and machines.

• Develop and lead AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategies that increase client visibility and citation rates across AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini, and others).
• Translate core SEO fundamentals into an AI-search context, advising clients and internal teams on how algorithmic and generative search are converging and where they still diverge.
• Track emerging platforms and ranking/citation signals in the AI search space, keeping Sol Comms and its clients ahead of a fast-moving landscape.
• Partner with creative teams to structure earned media, bylines, and owned content so it's citation-ready for LLMs and answer engines.

• Own the measurement framework for AI visibility: track brand citations, share of voice, and prompt-level performance using platforms such as Profound, Semrush's AI visibility tools, Otterly.

• Translate raw platform data into clear, client-ready reporting that ties AEO/GEO performance back to broader PR and business objectives.
• Benchmark clients against competitors' AI search presence and flag white-space opportunities.
• Build client-facing AEO/GEO strategies that complement rather than compete with a client's broader PR and communications program, tying visibility work back to earned media, thought leadership, and executive positioning.
• Present findings and strategic recommendations directly to clients; translate technical search and analytics concepts into narratives clients can act on.
• Identify opportunities to expand AEO/GEO scope within existing client relationships.

• Serve as Sol Comms' in-house expert on AEO/GEO, educating account and creative teams on how to build "answer-engine-friendly" earned and owned content.
• Support junior team members with guidance on measurement tools, platforms, and reporting best practices.

• 3-5 years of experience in SEO, digital PR, content strategy, or marketing analytics, with hands-on knowledge of how SEO has evolved in the AI search landscape.
• Working knowledge of AEO and GEO principles and the platforms used to track them (e.g., Profound, Semrush, Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Surfer SEO, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to translate SEO and analytics data into strategic, client-ready recommendations. Agency experience preferred.
• Strong writing and presentation skills; comfortable presenting directly to clients.
• A PR-minded approach to strategy: you think in terms of earned visibility, narrative, and reputation.
• Familiarity with major AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini) and how brands earn citations within them.
