Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse is seeking a creative, energetic, and dependable Marketing & Events Intern to support MYL's marketing efforts and growing calendar of events. This position is a great opportunity for a high school or college student, recent graduate, or individual looking to gain hands‑on experience in sports marketing, social media, content creation, and event operations.
The Marketing & Events Intern will work closely with the Director of Operations & Events to help tell the story of community‑based youth lacrosse, promote MYL programs and events, engage with our digital audience, and assist with the execution of events throughout Massachusetts and New England.
This is primarily a remote position with required in‑person attendance at select MYL events.
Time Period10-month position through June 2027
Commitment & Compensation
Approximately 20 hours per week
$15 per hour
Primarily remote work with in‑person event responsibilities
Opportunities for additional hours around larger MYL events
Some evening and weekend availability required
Travel to events throughout Central and Eastern Massachusetts and other MYL event locations as needed
Marketing & Social Media ResponsibilitiesThe Marketing & Events Intern will assist with MYL's day‑to‑day digital marketing while helping develop creative ways to tell the stories of MYL, its member programs, athletes, coaches, volunteers, and events.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with managing MYL social media platforms, including Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook
Create engaging social media content, including graphics, photos, short‑form videos, stories, and reels
Capture photos and video at MYL events for use across social media, email, website, and future marketing campaigns
Create timely event recap reels and posts
Promote MYL events, clinics, programs, grants, initiatives, registration deadlines, special offers, and other opportunities
Help develop and execute social media campaigns surrounding major MYL events and initiatives
Monitor comments and direct messages and assist with timely responses to help increase engagement and interaction with the MYL community
Identify and share relevant stories from MYL member programs and the broader lacrosse community
Brainstorm creative campaign concepts, video ideas, contests, features, and other ways to engage MYL's audience
Creativity is an important part of this position. The intern will be encouraged to bring new ideas, concepts, trends, and campaign ideas to the MYL team rather than simply executing an existing content calendar.
Event ResponsibilitiesThe Marketing & Events Intern will also play an active role in supporting MYL events throughout the year.
Responsibilities may include:
Assist with event setup and breakdown
Support athlete, coach, attendee, and/or vendor check‑in
Help prepare signage, registration areas, equipment, giveaways, and other event materials
Provide on‑site operational support to MYL staff
Capture photos, videos, interviews, and behind‑the‑scenes content throughout events
Identify stories and moments that can be turned into real‑time or post‑event social media content
Assist with event recap content following major events
Support additional event needs as assigned by the Director of Operations & Events
Events may include:
MYLax youth clinics and camps
Coach education clinics and events
New England Lacrosse Convention
MYL Jamboree
MYL Select Finals
Classic League games and other MYL league events
Additional special events and community programming throughout the year
Major events may require additional hours beyond the typical 20‑hour work week.
