LCMC Texas is searching for a talented, ministry-minded individual to join our staff as our Youth Event Coordinator. This part-time, remote position offers competitive hourly compensation and a flexible work schedule. Due to the nature of the position, hours are anticipated to be sporadic. We expect a successful candidate to work 150 to 250 hours in the initial year. We look forward to potential future expansion of this position in subsequent years.

The Youth Event Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Mission Growth and will collaborate with youth leaders and volunteers in congregations across Texas as well as other staff and volunteers of LCMC Texas District.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the LCMC Texas District Youth Gathering to coincide with our Annual District Gathering.
  • Identify youth leaders (paid staff and volunteers) across the Texas District to solicit input and to help encourage youth participation.
  • Recruit and lead a team to plan and execute a successful Youth Gathering.
  • Propose a budget and financial plan for the Youth Gathering, working within the approved budget for the event.
  • Work with the Director of Mission Growth and Gathering Planning Team to coordinate event schedules and plans.
  • Work with Gathering host to plan any facility or other logistics for the event.
  • Work with the Communication Specialist regarding graphic design, marketing and event promotion.
  • Provide regular communication to be sent out with monthly District News.
  • Work to improve youth participation and attendance from across the Texas District.
  • Identify and plan opportunities for youth leadership and service.
  • Identify and plan opportunities for youth to consider ministry vocations.
  • Be a friendly and helpful ministry partner in support of our mission to multiply disciples and churches and equip future ministry leaders.
  • Assist with other duties as communicated and mutually agreed upon.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Congregational youth ministry leadership experience.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Volunteer recruitment and group leadership experience.
  • Faithful, fun, and passionate about investing in the faith lives of young people.
  • Continued growth in faith and relationship with Christ.
  • Agreement with the Statement of Faith of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.
  • A good team player, trustworthy and respectful.
  • Strive for excellence in communication.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic.
  • Take the initiative to do whatever needs to be done.
  • Continue to improve upon your current skills and be willing to learn and grow.
