Status: 1700-hour Ameri Corps Service Term
Benefits: Ameri Corps Education Award of $6,345.00 and eligibility for Public Land Corps Hiring Authority after successful completion of term. Health insurance offered by Conservation Legacy.

Mission and OrganizationAncestral Lands Conservation Corps’ Mission: It is the mission of the Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps (ALCC) to lead our nations back to cultural and ecological well-being. ALCC has offices in Acoma Pueblo, Isleta Pueblo, Gallup NM (Navajo Nation), Zuni Pueblo, and Hopi Tribe. ALCC also serves Indigenous Youth across the country through its Individual Placements Program. Native American applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

NPS operates programs that extend throughout the nation, including the Hydropower Assistance Program, Wild and Scenic Rivers Program, and RTCA, managed through the Washington DC Headquarters Office.
NPSHydropower Program Overview
The NPS Hydropower Assistance Program supports parks and designated areas nationwide. This fellowship focuses on developing and managing geospatial tools, outreach and communication products, and guidance documents to benefit communities and the environment. The fellow will work with NPS hydropower staff to manage the hydropower database, develop an annual report, update a story map, and create other communication products illustrating the program’s accomplishments.
The fellow will also engage in research and analysis to inform tools and guidance for staff and partners related to recreation and conservation in FERC proceedings, supporting protection of rivers and outdoor recreation near hydropower projects.
- Conduct quality control of database entries.
- Update training guidance and assist staff with annual reporting. Provide a training webinar on how to use the database.
- Collaborate with the Division's Program Geospecialist to update the database.
- Develop guidance and GIS tools to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in hydropower projects. Add geospatial layers to aid staff in project selection.
- Assist with updating the project projection tool and related map; update staff guidance and solicit feedback from the hydropower team.
- Develop and update interactive and printable maps.
- Work with the Program Manager and Team Lead to update the annual report; utilize FY24 project data and upcoming FY25 workload. Develop maps, charts, and tables to show hydropower work.
- Download and modify spreadsheets from the project database and projection tool as needed.
- Develop project stories for the online Story Map and other communication products.
- Develop a newsletter for NPS staff about training and news.
- Update existing tools such as the website and SharePoint site.
