Responsibilities
  • Manage on-the-ground watershed restoration and reconnection projects, including planning, permitting, and implementation oversight
  • Perform project-specific administrative duties, such as drafting RFPs, contracting, and budget management
  • Collaborate with U.S. Forest Service staff, city officials, and landowners to ensure project cohesion and provide updates
  • Execute outreach work with communications staff, including creating content for social media and drafting articles and press releases
  • Fundraise for program and project support by identifying funding sources and developing relationships with funders
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, natural resources, or a related field, plus at least 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong understanding of natural resource management issues related to salmon and steelhead conservation in Washington State
  • Experience with river restoration principles and project permitting for aquatic restoration projects
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with diverse landowners, agencies, and project stakeholders
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations
  • Grant writing experience
  • Familiarity with additional software such as ArcGIS, R, and mobile data collection apps
