Job Description: Foodsharing Ottawa is looking for an enthusiastic and community-driven Workshop Facilitator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing/adapting content, delivering approximately 12 workshops, and engaging participants in discussions around food skills, food preservation, and sustainable food practices. This role is crucial in fostering a culture of food sustainability across Ottawa.
Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid: combination of remote work and in-person)
Employment Type: Part-time Contract (up to December 2026, with potential for extension)
Hours: Approx. 10-15 hours/week (flexible)
Compensation: $25-$30/hour (based on experience) to a maximum of 220 hours.

About Foodsharing Ottawa:
Foodsharing Ottawa is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to reducing food waste, promoting food sustainability, and building community through food education. We are expanding our outreach efforts to educate Ottawa residents on food preservation, food skills, and reducing waste through our newly funded project.
Key Responsibilities- Develop engaging, culturally responsive workshop content focused on food skills, preservation techniques, and food waste reduction.
- Facilitate in-person and online workshops for diverse groups, including adults, caregivers, and school-aged children.
- Gather participant feedback and assess program impact using surveys and testimonials.
- Collaborate with the Foodsharing Ottawa team to refine and adapt workshop content as needed.
- Assist in the promotion of workshops through social media and outreach channels.
- Build connections with community organizations to extend the reach of the program.
- Possibility of being photographed or videoed to create learning materials.
- Experience in facilitation, community engagement, or teaching (experience in food sustainability, nutrition or environmental education is a plus).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to create inclusive, engaging, and culturally responsive educational content.
- Organizational skills to manage workshop logistics and participant feedback.
- Passion for sustainability and food waste reduction.
- Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with individuals on varying schedules
- Some evening and weekend work
- Access to personal devices including cell phone and computer
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs and transport promotional and workshop materials to venue (as required)
