Overview
Journalism Enhancing Programs, Investigative Reporters and Editors, a $3.5 million educational nonprofit dedicated to fostering excellence in investigative journalism, and the largest journalism organization in the nation, is seeking a Director of Development with a passion for journalism and experience in fundraising.
The Director of Development is an employee of the University of Missouri with full benefits.
This is a remote working position.
- Plan and execute new and existing fundraising initiatives to advance the IRE mission and expand impact.
- Drive growth in institutional funding by researching and identifying new grant opportunities, including foundations and accepted commercial entities.
- Lead all aspects of sponsorship and exhibitor/recruiter solicitation for IRE's three annual conferences.
- Work with established supporters and new prospects to meet budget goals.
- Cultivate and steward meaningful, long-term relationships with IRE donors and funders, including for major gifts, the annual end-of-year campaign and legacy giving.
- Collaborate with key staff to meet strategic goals and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, IRE members, the IRE Board of Directors, and external partners.
Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.
- 6 p.m. Some nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Minimum: A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
- Preferred:
At least three years of direct experience in journalism and two years in fundraising.
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000/annual
