Humane Borders, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 2000 to provide humanitarian assistance in the Sonoran Desert. This is a full-time hybrid role for an Executive Director based in Tucson, AZ, with some flexibility for remote work. The Executive Director will oversee the organization's day-to-day operations, including leading strategic planning, managing budgets, supervising staff and volunteers, and fostering relationships with partners, donors, and stakeholders. Responsibilities also include fundraising, community outreach, program development, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
The Executive Director will represent Humane Borders in public forums and advocate for the organization's mission.
- Leadership and management skills, with experience overseeing budgets, supervising staff, and guiding organizational strategy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse communities, stakeholders, and volunteers
- Fundraising, partnership development, and donor relations expertise
- Proficiency in program development and project management
- Commitment to humanitarian assistance and the mission of supporting migrants and creating a humane border environment
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field preferred
- Experience with non-profit leadership and collaboration with government and community organizations is highly desirable
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
