For decades, the Brain Injury Association of America has been supporting the brain injury community and advocating for the unique needs of injury survivors and caregivers. Our vibrant, mission-driven organization is looking for a dynamic leader to drive our success and help us meet our goals as our full-time Nonprofit Executive Director.

This remote position is based in the Los Angeles, San Diego, or San Francisco metro areas and closely oversees our operations throughout the state of California. You have a hand in many aspects of our organization, and occasional travel is required to meet certain functions.

YOUR DAY

Our Nonprofit Executive Director is responsible for nurturing relationships, driving revenue, and improving our advocacy efforts throughout California. This is a dynamic, remote role where you identify new business avenues and strategies for supporting the brain injury community. Your main focus is on creating an effective business plan and establishing partnerships to improve outreach, grow revenue, and create a shared vision amongst colleagues and volunteers.

You find, inspire, and engage volunteers to help advance initiatives and meet our goals.

Leading advocacy efforts at the state level, you collaborate with stakeholders to raise awareness, ignite positive change, and make a profound difference for brain injury survivors and their caregivers. You also help us meet annual revenue goals by attending webinars, conferences, and fundraising events to promote our various programs, products, and services. Working seamlessly with colleagues, volunteers, and senior management, you uncover new business opportunities that align with our mission.

YOUR HOURS

Our remote Nonprofit Executive Director works from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 7+ years of experience with nonprofit relationship management, programs, community development, or fundraising
  • 5+ years of experience developing and delivering presentations to small and large groups
  • Ability to develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies, particularly in promoting intangible programs and services
  • Ability to consult and interact with corporate leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Power Point
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills
