The RoleThis position leads the Operations Branch of Path of Hope Rescue (PHR), overseeing the pipeline of program dogs from Texas to adoption in Washington.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a volunteer workforce of 200+ members across five departments:
Fosters, Adoptions, Admissions, Medical, and Transport. - Back filling and performing volunteer roles to understand branch operations and train new volunteers from the onboarding process.
- Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures and foundational documents to support scalability.
- Serving as the primary operational partner to the CEO, transitioning from hands‑on logistics to strategic leadership through training and delegation.
- Collaborating with Texas shelter partners to identify at‑risk dogs and coordinating with transport partners to move dogs to Washington in compliance with state laws.
- Coordinating foster family placement plans and supervising intake, drug‑screening, and preventive medical care for all dogs.
- Overseeing the adoption program and long‑distance transportation to adopters in Idaho, Montana, and Oregon.
- Maintaining remote daily engagement with volunteers and scheduling proactive on‑site visits a minimum of once per week.
- Attending all intake, transport, and adoption events.
- 1‑2 Texas transports/intakes per month (20‑40 dogs).
- All dogs placed in appropriate foster homes with no double placements.
- A cohesive foster team that builds community.
- Medical team fully supported with stocked inventory for emergencies.
- Vaccines, heartworm, and dewormer schedules up to date.
- Spay/Neuter surgeries planned and scheduled in advance.
- Daily remote engagement with volunteers.
- At least one proactive office‑out day per week to visit fosters, trainers, vets, or vendors.
- Minimum 15 adoptions per month.
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; conflict resolution; emotional discipline; decisive action based on principles; ability to motivate a large volunteer team.

Mission & VisionMission: Save pregnant dogs and puppies from high‑kill shelters in the Southern United States, transporting them to the Pacific Northwest for adoptive homes.

Annual salary: $48,000. Benefits are not currently offered. The salary may increase in response to significant contributions to adoption rates and adherence to core values.
