About Us
The Empowerment Factory (TEF) is a non‑profit dedicated to giving children the skills they need to lead happier, healthier lives. We focus on creativity, self‑esteem, and civic pride, offering Creative Squad programs that blend hands‑on activities with social emotional learning and environmental education. TEF has positively impacted over 3,700 urban youth through after‑school clubs and summer programs, many of whom live in underserved communities.
SocialMedia Intern/Volunteer Description
The Empowerment Factory is looking for a passionate, creative, and innovative volunteer to assist in social media marketing. This internship/volunteer role requires a minimum of 4 hours per week and is flexible on days and times. Interns/volunteers will work closely with the Executive Director.
Responsibilities- Create content and posts for our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, Linked In).
- Communicate and outreach on social media with potential funders and program partners.
- Assist in planning, writing, and managing the monthly newsletter via Constant Contact.
- Attend events to capture photos, videos, and testimonials for social media content.
- Self‑motivated, organized, detail‑oriented, and able to prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
- Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite is desired.
- Effective written and oral communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
Location is easily accessible by public transportation and is wheelchair accessible. Remote work is also available.
Terms:
Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring sessions. Hours negotiable.
