Position: Remote Policy Advocacy Internship: Fight Global Poverty

With two decades of experience in advocacy, we have successfully supported the passage of numerous bills, positively affecting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.

About

the Internship:

This internship centers around advocating for poverty to be a priority in U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy. This is a formative part-time position requiring 12 hours per week over a span of 12 weeks. This position is remote and unpaid, but if your schedule is tight, you have the flexibility to complete the program in a shorter timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead outreach efforts to the public and political figures within your area.
  • Meet with local members of Congress or Government representatives.
  • Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political, and community events.
  • Help with fundraising by creating and executing a personal fundraising campaign to achieve targets.
  • Encourage individuals to contact their government representatives in support of significant poverty-reduction legislation.
  • Speak to groups, classes, and organizations about our mission and goals.
  • Draft letters of support for essential programs directed towards political leaders, media, and allied groups.

No prior experience is necessary! We welcome individuals who are passionate about addressing poverty and championing justice, regardless of academic background or GPA.

Details:
  • This is an unpaid internship, though college credit can be arranged.
  • New programs commence every month; you can choose when to start.
