Interning at Riley Children's Foundation offers a first-hand glimpse of how the Foundation ensures that children have access to exceptional healthcare by funding pediatric research, education, and care. We at Riley Children's Foundation raise funds statewide and steward assets for the kids.
Youth Philanthropy (YP) Team Support:
- Data and Record Keeping:
Ensure accuracy, integrity and reporting of annual data surrounding Youth Philanthropy participant engagement and fundraising performance. Assist the Youth Philanthropy Team with Donor Drive, Classy, and Salesforce reporting, data entry, and intermediate Excel spreadsheet creation for data analysis. - Stewardship:
Take a leading role, with guidance from the Youth Philanthropy Team, in planning and executing multiple stewardship campaigns and engagement initiatives throughout the academic year.- Fall Fundraising Campaign:
Lead the execution of the fall fundraising challenge, including incentive item development, vendor coordination, internal communication (Wrike), and outreach to high school advisors and student leaders. - Spring Stewardship Initiatives:
Support and help implement spring stewardship efforts, including communications, recognition programs, events, awards, and donor/stakeholder mailings. - Kids Caring & Sharing: assist with annual recognition fulfillment
- Fall Fundraising Campaign:
- Content:
Coordinate and execute social media strategy for Riley Children's Foundation Youth Philanthropy channels, with a focus on both education and engagement.- Develop content that highlights stakeholders, shares best practices, and provides resources to support participating schools and student leaders.
- Create and design engaging, on-brand (graphics and short-form video) content using Canva that deepens audience connection, amplifies program impact, and aligns with Riley Children's Foundation brand standards and campaign messaging.
- Ongoing Operations: Manage and support day-to-day program operations including:
- Manage and monitor the Riley Dance Marathon inbox, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional responses.
- Maintaining internal and external resources to ensure up-to-date and accessible materials
- Support day-to-day coordination of projects and tasks, ensuring alignment with timelines and team priorities.
- Youth Philanthropy Program Team Support: Assist Youth Philanthropy Program Team as requested during fundraising push days, special events, and main events (may require travel or remote work on nights and weekends).
- Assist IUDM during their main event on November 7-9 and during IUDM's Day of Hope fundraising push day.
Position Requirements
- Preferred Majors:
Non-Profit, Philanthropy, Business, Organizational Leadership, Event Planning, or similar majors would find this internship beneficial to their career goals and would most likely possess the skills needed to perform assigned projects and tasks. - Collegiate Dance Marathon Experience:
Strongly preferred but not required. (General DM Experience Required, not just collegiate) - Technical Skills Needed:
Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel knowledge (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, etc.). Google Drive management. Interest in fundraising data analytics. Familiarity with Donor Drive platform. Social media skills and social media platform management, specifically Instagram. Canva experience is strongly preferred. Salesforce platform experience is a plus. Ability to learn new platforms like Microsoft Planner or Wrike). - Professional Skills Needed:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing data, communications, and project deliverables
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent RCF across in-person, virtual, and written platforms
- Project management mindset, including the ability to plan, execute and track initiatives while staying aligned with timelines and goals
- Proactive self-starter who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and follows through on responsibilities
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt, troubleshoot, and contribute ideas for improvement
- Eagerness to learn and grow, with openness to feedback and new experiences
- Ability to handle confidential financial and donor information with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, including hybrid or remote environments as needed
