Title: Executive Director, Phi Theta Kappa Foundation

Work Location: Remote | Jackson, MS Preferred

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Phi Theta Kappa Foundation is seeking a visionary, results-driven Executive Director to lead its fundraising strategy and philanthropic growth.

This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who understands the power of education and is passionate about expanding access to college scholarships, student leadership development, and academic excellence.

As the chief advancement officer, you will serve as a strategic partner to the President and CEO and work closely with a committed Board of Trustees to deepen donor engagement and align resources with the Honor Society’s mission. You’ll oversee a small but mighty team and lead major fundraising efforts that directly impact thousands of community college students each year.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead all aspects of fundraising strategy—annual, major, corporate, planned, and foundation giving.
  • Cultivate and steward key donor relationships, often in partnership with the President and CEO.
  • Supervise and support a professional staff team, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a workplace culture that encourages innovation, collaboration, inclusivity, and professional growth.
  • Engage the Foundation Board of Trustees as ambassadors, advocates, and fundraisers.
  • Identify and secure grant and sponsorship opportunities that align with PTK’s strategic priorities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Foundation, including budgeting, reporting, and team development.
  • Serve as a senior member of PTK’s Executive Cabinet, contributing to society-wide strategy and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Partner with the Board and PTK leadership to set measurable goals, track progress, and communicate impact.
  • Strengthen internal systems for donor communications, stewardship, and fund management.
  • Represent the Foundation with authenticity, professionalism, and passion in all public and partner-facing interactions.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • A deep belief in the transformative power of education—and a commitment to community colleges.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, with a strong track record in major gifts and campaigns.
  • Strategic leadership skills, including experience managing staff and working closely with a Board of Trustees or Directors.
  • Comfort engaging with diverse stakeholders—from students and donors to corporate leaders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to lead with purpose, navigate complexity, and deliver results.
