JOB SUMMARY:

“Los Jovenes Son La Esperanza Del Mundo”- Roberto Maestas. El Centro De La Raza believes that our youth can change the world. As such, we offer programming for Latinx youth of King County that expands identity development, leadership, and critical consciousness and engages parents. To sustain impact, El Centro De La Raza seeks to hire two co-directors to lead operations of the Youth Services Department.

Expanding from elementary to youth adulthood, our program empowers students through the Echale Ganas mindset. We seek a co-director who will inspire a team of youth professionals to offer high quality direct services and apply that Echale Ganas spirit.

Currently, the youth service department houses ten programs supporting youth ages 10-24, with expansion on the horizon. The Seattle based Co-Director will supervise Middle School – High School programs; in total, this will be 5 year-round programs and two summer programs. Each Co-Director will supervise seven full-time staff, Ameri Corps members, university work-studies, and various volunteers in executing an applied ethnic studies framework.

Co-Directors will collaborate with one another to advance administrative responsibilities. We are seeking candidates committed to educational advancement, Latinx community and above all who will advocate for young people.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervise full time staff members, meeting weekly to provide coaching and guidance on program operations.

Work from the Federal Way office at least once a week to support the development of Federal Way based programs.

Lead the screening, interviewing, and hiring of youth services team members when needed.

Provide evaluation and quality management on daily program operations.

Supervise the following youth programs focused on middle school into high school programs:
Roberto Maestas After School Program (SEA & FW), Youth J.O.B Readiness, Pa’lante Middle School, Eco-caciques, Echale Ganas Summer Institute In coordination with the Co-Director, the Associate Director, strategically plan all Youth Services programs to provide recommendations to the Executive Director.

Develop diverse funding streams and long-term plans to best support the mission and goals of the organization.

Maintain processes for proper record keeping and internal financial controls as related to Youth Services  collaboration with the Co-Director, develop and monitor annual budgets, staffing plans, and cost estimates for supplies and projects.

Review and approve purchase requests in alignment with budget needs.

Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to grantors/donors.

Oversee monthly invoicing, approval of payment requests and reimbursements, and oversight of payroll management and approval.

Develop and foster new relationships and growth of new programming to continue the development of the youth services pipeline of support.

Research grant opportunities and understanding funder requirements

Drafting and revising grant proposals with any additional supporting documents

Engage with contract monitors and district administrators to advocate for youth and family participants.

Attends weekly program meeting with the Associate Director, Charlas, youth team meetings, department staff meetings, and approved program-related meetings or trainings. Facilitate and offer professional development as needed.

Uphold technological knowledge and seek resources to support the skillset of the team.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
