What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Lead and expand the National MS Society's planned giving program, focusing on growth and maximizing fundraising potential
  • Conduct program assessments to inform staffing needs and position the program for future success
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for an integrated gift planning program that enhances donor stewardship
  • Coach and develop Planned Giving staff while supporting complex gift options beyond basic bequests
  • Collaborate with internal teams to execute coordinated fundraising initiatives and track planned giving metrics
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in gift planning and major gifts, with at least 6 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of securing a variety of planned gifts and leading planned giving programs
  • In-depth knowledge of planned giving vehicles, estate planning, and legal/tax implications
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience managing budgets and assessing team portfolios to meet fundraising goals
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Proven nonprofit leadership experience with increasing responsibility
  • Extensive experience managing remote and hybrid teams effectively
  • Track record of implementing innovative fundraising strategies that increase engagement
  • Advanced CRM expertise and ability to leverage data analytics for decision-making
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% for events and training
