Individual Giving Manager

Are you passionate about the mission of public broadcasting and driven to make a meaningful impact in the world of fundraising? As the Individual Giving Manager at Wisconsin Public Radio, you'll play a key role in shaping and executing strategies to engage high‑value donors, nurture relationships, and support the organization’s mission of delivering trusted, impactful programming to Wisconsin. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to oversee essential fundraising systems, manage prospect portfolios, and directly contribute to the growth and success of Wisconsin Public Radio’s Major Individual Gifts unit.

This position operates within Wisconsin Public Radio’s Development Department and reports to the Managing Director of Individual Giving. As a leader within the team, you’ll oversee the administration of key fundraising software and portfolio management systems, conduct donor research, and collaborate with colleagues to drive cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship initiatives. To excel in this role, you’ll bring a combination of technical proficiency, organizational skills, and interpersonal communications.

An ability to manage databases and analyze donor data will be essential.

This is a full‑time, 40‑hour‑a‑week position that works core business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and may require responsiveness outside of standard business hours and occasional travel. It is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days per week in person in Madison, WI. Remote work requires an approved flexible work arrangement (FWA) with your own high‑speed internet and phone on a university‑provided computer.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Manage execution of Individual Gifts program administration, maintaining the quality of donor database records and standards of accuracy, timeliness, and efficiencies of data entry, donor communications, and gift acknowledgement processes.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze donor information and event data to provide subsequent recommendations for improvement and enhancement.
  • Schedule logistics and secure resources for event and program activities, including facilities, participants, and vendors, adhering to established timelines and expectations.
  • Assist with designing, developing, and delivering marketing and communication materials and other event publications to promote development events and programs.
  • Assist with the development of strategic planning initiatives and objectives, program budgets, and monitor activity to ensure adherence to established guidelines.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders at meetings and activities to advocate for and promote the interests of the unit.
  • Identify, promote, and maintain donor relationships and solicit opportunities specifically designed for generation of mid‑level gifts ($1,000 – $2,500) to reach program funding goals.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range for this position is in the mid $60,000s. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience working within a database (such as a CRM) and spreadsheet software.
  • Demonstrated ability executing administrative functions such as mail merges, organizing and maintaining files, financial reporting, and mass communications.
  • Experience writing clear, donor‑focused communications.
  • Established work history in one‑on‑one customer relationship building and customer service.
