Position: COALITION AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Overview

Coalition & Community Development Coordinator for Local County Government Mental Health and Recovery Board Are you a bachelor level behavioral health system worker who enjoys convening complex conversations and problem-solving that ultimately improve the lives of others? Or, do you have prior experience in leading community coalitions and enjoy planning community events for a cause? The Coalition & Community Development Coordinator (CCDC) at StarkMHAR is responsible for: facilitating the Stark County suicide and substance use prevention coalitions & sub-committees, implementing coalition initiatives, coordinating data collection, overseeing coalition-related budgets, and meeting internal/external reporting requirements.

Other responsibilities for the CCDC provide an opportunity to support further development of coalitions in Stark County and hosting or co-hosting community events related to suicide and overdose prevention. This role is a part of StarkMHAR's clinical department and works with staff in clinical and other StarkMHAR departments as well. A strong CCDC candidate is people-centered, has excellent social and communication skills, enjoys being creative, is impactful when thinking outside the box to solve problems, and is familiar with how various social media outlets can impact the community.

It's a plus if you are familiar with Microsoft Excel and Teams and is a quick learner with tech. If you have work experience in behavioral health and coalitions, and are energized by bringing people together, you are encouraged to apply!

Purpose

Responsible for administration of suicide and overdose prevention strategies of environmental, community-based process, and information dissemination based on coalition activities and/or coalition related grant requirements; responsible for various coalitions through development and implementation of outward facing strategies and activities; responsible for coordination and implementation of various community strategies related to suicide and overdose death prevention driven by a coalition.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral services or related field required (Master's degree preferred)
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in the community coalition field required
  • Experience with AOD/MH prevention preferred
  • OCPSA or willingness to obtain certification within first year preferred

    Project management experience preferred
  • The final applicant selected for this position, prior to appointment, will be required to submit to a drug test for illegal drug use. The test site shall be chosen and paid for by the Board. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment. The applicant will also be subject to any other requirements of Ohio law.

Salary: $44885 - $68327 per year
