The STAY FLY Program builds agency, self‑sufficiency, and self‑advocacy in transitional‑age young adults between 18‑25 while decreasing their likelihood of deeper justice system involvement.
Position SummaryThe STAY FLY Program Lead Coach will lead program expansion in Alameda County, providing structured support and guidance to justice‑system impacted young adults. Responsibilities include facilitating legal education workshops, goal‑setting around education, employment, and life skills, coordinating pro‑social and civic engagement events, and engaging in community meetings.
Position Responsibilities Provide Coaching and Advocacy for Young Adults- Coach 2–4 hours/month for a caseload of up to 15 young adults per year.
- Develop individualized development plans to support social‑emotional and self‑sufficiency skills.
- Respond to crises and basic needs supports using community services and resources.
- Support systems navigation: attend education meetings, court hearings, prepare court reports, and participate in partner meetings.
- Document client interactions in the internal tracking database, Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), and maintain client files.
- Compile data and complete grant reports for program funding sources.
- Coordinate and facilitate weekly law‑related education workshops.
- Maintain positive relationships with participants and stakeholders such as probation officers and community providers.
- Administer program evaluations and surveys at the start and end of workshop cycles.
- Incorporate strategies to recruit attendees into coaching.
- Provide additional resources to non‑eligible participants.
- Coordinate outside resource people/guest speakers.
- Monitor attendance and generate ETO attendance reports.
- Lead curriculum training sessions for staff and volunteers.
- Plan and execute group events for program participants through coordination with the Program Coordinator.
- Provide updates on upcoming events and collaborate to ensure attendance.
- Lead facilitation of personal and professional development workshops with the Program Manager.
- Engage participants in opportunities to deepen historical and cultural understanding and community involvement.
- Monitor event attendance and develop strategies to increase participation.
- Provide and coordinate transportation to and from activities and events.
- Collaborate with agency staff for cross‑program event opportunities.
- Participate in education, community, and systems meetings to understand community needs.
- Maintain relationships with education, community, and system providers.
- Support young adults in participating in community spaces for advocacy and action.
- Represent the agency at community meetings and provide external presentations about the STAY FLY Program.
Full‑time non‑exempt role at $30.15/hour. Benefits include:
