Salary: $45,000
Job PurposeOrganize community members and local stakeholders through various civic engagement strategies, including voter registration, voter mobilization, ballot initiatives, get-out-the-vote (GOTV) efforts, and grassroots advocacy work while building power through expanding Women’s Fund of Omaha’s base of supporters and volunteers. Support Women’s Fund of Omaha and the broader collective goals of the Nebraska Civic Engagement Table and its membership by increasing local civic engagement efforts, particularly with young people under age 25.
KeyAccountabilities Community and Network Organizing
- Represent Women’s Fund of Omaha at local community events and regular coalition meetings to act as a liaison between the organization and the community
- Actively participate as the representative for Women’s Fund of Omaha in the Nebraska Table’s Omaha GOTV Coalition meetings
- Lead voter education efforts and outreach on issues impacting community members and organize around issues that increase civic engagement and voter turnout
- Identify opportunities for cross-organization partnerships to amplify the impact of advocacy campaigns and more effectively utilize available resources
- Lead the development of a comprehensive organizing plan to address gender-based violence and increase access to sexual health services and education
- Expand and support the Youth Advisory Council through youth-led advocacy and education efforts focused on sexual literacy and reproductive rights access
- Support work to empower survivors of violence in shaping how they interact and are impacted by the criminal legal system
- Actively participate in regularly scheduled advocacy calls to keep Women’s Fund of Omaha updated on collective advocacy efforts
- Actively engage, center, and empower underrepresented communities, as defined by the Nebraska Table vision, to ensure their perspectives and concerns are not only heard and addressed, but are the driving force for strategy and action
- Assist with a diverse array of civic engagement activities, including voter registration campaigns, GOTV efforts, ballot initiative signature collection and direct democracy, grassroots advocacy, and amplifying member and community stories

- Required:
Candidates whose personal values align with the mission and values of Women’s Fund of Omaha - Preferred:
Candidates have 1-3 years of nonprofit or organizing experience - Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
- Experience working or good understanding of grassroots organizing, direct services, local volunteering, or nonprofit work
- Presenting, collaborating, and training with diverse audiences and more specifically with underrepresented communities
- Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license and auto insurance

- Location requirement:
Majority of time spent in Omaha, Nebraska, with some travel required to Lincoln, Nebraska
