Brightside Child & Family Advocacy works to protect children, strengthen families, and advocate for brighter futures through our CASA, Bright House, and Brighter Futures programs. We are seeking a passionate and creative Marketing & Development Intern to support our communications, fundraising, and community engagement efforts.
Position SummaryThe Marketing & Development Intern will play a key role in helping Brightside tell its story, engage supporters, and advance fundraising initiatives. This position offers hands‑on experience in nonprofit marketing, social media management, donor relations, event planning, and community outreach.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, organized self‑starter, and creative thinker who is eager to gain professional experience while making a meaningful impact in the community.
Responsibilities Marketing & Communications- Create and schedule content for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, and Tik Tok.
- Draft social media captions, blog posts, newsletters, and donor communications.
- Assist with photography and videography at programs, events, and community activities.
- Design graphics and marketing materials using Canva or similar platforms.
- Help maintain and update content calendars.
- Monitor social media engagement and identify opportunities to increase audience interaction.
- Assist with website updates and digital communications as needed.
- Support donor stewardship and appreciation efforts.
- Assist with fundraising campaigns and special events.
- Conduct donor, sponsor, and community partner research.
- Help prepare sponsorship packets, donor reports, and fundraising materials.
- Support donor database management and data entry.
- Assist with event logistics, registration, and follow‑up communications.
- Attend team meetings and planning sessions.
- Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate with staff to gather stories and impact data from Brightside programs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Business, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, photography, or video editing.
- Experience managing social media accounts for an organization, club, or business.
- Interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, communications, or community engagement.
- Experience with email marketing platforms, CRMs, or donor databases is a plus.
- Hybrid internship during the academic semester.
- Typically includes office days in Savannah and flexible remote work.
- Occasional evening or weekend availability may be requested for special events with advance notice.
- Hands‑on experience in nonprofit marketing and fundraising.

Compensation & Academic CreditThis is an unpaid internship designed to provide meaningful hands‑on experience in nonprofit marketing, communications, fundraising, and community engagement.
Students are encouraged to seek academic credit through their college or university if applicable. Brightside Child & Family Advocacy is happy to work with students and faculty advisors to meet internship requirements.
