Development & Engagement Coordinator

The Development & Engagement Coordinator plays an essential role in driving the Institute for Nonprofit Practice’s day‑to‑day fundraising operations, ensuring the organization has the resources it needs to deepen its impact and equip social sector leaders nationwide.

Responsibilities
  • Donor Engagement & Meeting Support
    • Coordinate donor meeting logistics: conduct prospect and donor research, draft agendas and talking points, prepare staff and leadership, manage scheduling, confirmations, and follow‑up tracking.
    • Draft external communications: prepare personalized emails, handwritten notes, and leadership correspondence to support donor stewardship, cultivation, and outreach.
    • Coordinate solicitation materials: assist the development leadership in gathering and organizing materials for individual solicitations, annual renewals, and new initiatives.
    • Support proposals and reporting: gather necessary data and supporting documentation to assist in drafting funder proposals and reports.
  • Campaign & Event Operations
    • Execute multi‑channel appeals: coordinate the creation and dissemination of print and digital appeals across platforms such as Mail Chimp, Eventbrite, and Paperless Post.
    • Manage event logistics: handle the administrative execution of special events, including invitation lists, mailings, registration, special guest logistics, and post‑event follow‑up.
  • Data & Systems Administration
    • Maintain Salesforce database: utilize Salesforce and internal content storage platforms to track development activities, keep donor records clean, and pull data for reporting.
    • Track team action items: attend development strategy meetings as the primary note‑taker to log, track, and prioritize next steps for the team.

What You’ll Need
  • 2‑3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong professional writing and proofreading skills, with the ability to draft clear, error‑free correspondence, agendas, and donor materials.
  • Impeccable organization and a strong attention to detail; a passion for producing polished work and maintaining orderly processes.
Compensation & Benefits

INP offers a competitive salary, benchmarked annually against Boston‑area nonprofits. The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

    full‑time position requiring at least two days per week in the office (Wednesday and Thursday).

    flexible work from home during regular office hours the remaining days, with occasional office days as needed.
  • Event Attendance: expected to attend all INP fundraising and networking events.
