Lead Campaigns and Community Engagement

Transition Salt Spring is hiring a part-time Lead for Campaigns and Community Engagement on Salt Spring Island, BC. This role provides flexible hours and involves both remote work and necessary on-site presence to facilitate our community initiatives.

In this role, you will actively contribute to Transition Salt Spring's efforts in climate action and community advocacy while leading our strategic campaigns for the upcoming October local government election. Collaborating closely with community volunteers, you will coordinate various outreach activities and manage thorough communication efforts, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. Your creativity and organizational skills will be pivotal in executing our plans effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and edit content for digital and print media

• Organize and lead community outreach and public events

• Advocate for OCP messaging post-election with clear communications

• Coordinate the release of the Climate Action Report Card

Requirements:

• Experience in crafting communications for community organizations

• Excellent writing abilities suited for diverse media

• Strong project management skills with minimal oversight

• Competence with digital communication tools

• Discretion in handling politically charged topics
