With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefit ting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Political Affairs InternshipThis part‑time, 12‑hour per week, 12‑week unpaid remote internship (college credit available) focuses on making poverty a central consideration of U.S., Canadian and U.K. foreign policy. Availability may be adjusted to complete the program in fewer weeks.
Responsibilities- Lead public and political outreach in your state and district
- Meet with members of Congress and other Government officials in your State/District/Constituency
- Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events
- Assist with fundraising, including creating a personal fundraising campaign and meeting targets
- Mobilize individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation
- Speak to groups, classes and organizations
- Write letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media and other groups
No prior experience necessary. Applicants should be passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs. GPAs/background are not required.
