Volunteer. Estimated commitment of approximately 4-8 hours per month, including meeting preparation and committee participation.

Flexible, Canada (primarily remote with 1-2 in-person meetings annually).

The Opportunity

CPAWS is seeking two new Trustees with the following profiles to join its National Board.

Senior Executive Leader

A current or former CEO, President, Executive Director, or C‑suite executive who has led a large, complex, multi‑regional or national organization.

Ideal experience includes:

  • Leading growth, transformation, or strategic renewal
  • Oversight of multi‑million dollar budgets and enterprise risk
  • Strong board‑management partnership experience
  • Public policy, government relations, and/or national stakeholder engagement
Senior Fundraising / Development Leader

A senior development executive with demonstrated success in relationship‑building with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.

Ideal experience includes:

  • Major gifts and donor strategy
  • Campaign leadership (capital, endowment, or comprehensive campaigns)
  • Corporate and foundation partnerships
  • Revenue diversification and philanthropic growth strategy (building capacity on the board)
  • Engaging boards in fundraising
Core Assets for Both Positions
  • Commitment to CPAWS’ mission and conservation outcomes
  • Governance experience (non‑profit or corporate board experience preferred)
  • Strategic thinking and sound judgment
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Commitment to diversity and Indigenous reconciliation

CONSEIL D’ADMINISTRATION NATIONAL (2 POSTES DE BÉNÉVOLAT)

Type de poste: Bénévole. Engagement d’environ 4 à 8 heures par mois, y compris la préparation des réunions et la participation aux comités.
