Learning Buddies Network (LBN) is a BC‑based grassroots service charity that provides free one‑on‑one mentoring for elementary students who need support in reading and math. LBN recruits and trains high school, post‑secondary, and community volunteers to serve as mentors and tutors, helping students build literacy, numeracy, confidence, and a stronger sense of belonging.
Position SummaryThe Executive Assistant will provide fundraising, administrative, operational, communications, and coordination support to the Executive Director and the broader organization. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, detail‑oriented, comfortable with technology, and able to manage competing priorities in a small nonprofit environment.
Responsibilities- Support donor communications, CRM/database upkeep, and grant tracking.
- Coordinate giving events, including Giving Tuesday and the annual campaign.
- Prepare meeting materials and facilitate board and committee coordination.
- Track stewardship reminders and donor engagement activities.
- Assist with organizational operations and administrative systems to free up senior leadership capacity.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proactive and detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Comfortable with technology and able to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑moving, small‑team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Hourly compensation in the range of $26.00 to $35.00, commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility.
- Full‑time employees receive comprehensive benefits after 90 days of employment.
- Three weeks of vacation after completion of a 90‑day probationary period.
- Birthday off each year and paid time off during LBN’s annual closure between Christmas and New Year’s.
LBN staff primarily work from home, with occasional in‑person meetings, events, or program visits in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
