This is a remote position, ideally based in the Denver, CO area.

The Grant Writer will play a key role in supporting the organization’s fundraising efforts by researching, writing, and coordinating grant proposals and other fundraising communications. You’ll join a dynamic, creative environment that values personal and professional growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and Identify Funding Opportunities:
    Conduct prospect research to identify grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and programs.
  • Write and Develop Grant Proposals:
    Craft clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials for foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Prepare and Submit Grant Reports:
    Gather data and collaborate with internal teams to prepare timely, accurate, and compelling reports demonstrating outcomes and compliance with funder requirements.
  • Collaborate Across Teams:
    Work closely with Programs, Digital Products, Marketing, Research, and Accounting to gather information and data needed for proposals and reports.
  • Leverage Technology:
    Use AI tools and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to streamline research, writing, and reporting processes.
  • Maintain Accurate Records:
    Track proposals, deadlines, grant agreements, and reporting schedules to ensure clear documentation.
  • Stay Current:
    Keep up-to-date with fundraising trends, best practices, and relevant funding opportunities.
  • Support Development Team:
    Collaborate with the Development team to achieve fundraising goals and participate in team meetings and planning.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    Participate in occasional in-person retreats and contribute to other development activities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to fundraising success.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience writing and editing fundraising materials, with a focus on grant writing.
  • Demonstrated success leveraging technology/AI to support efficient and effective writing.
  • Proven ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive copy—and to maintain meticulous attention to detail when working with quantitative data and reporting grant deliverables.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and communicate with empathy, active listening, and self-awareness.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Commitment to racial and social justice, with a desire to apply anti-racism and anti-oppression principles.
  • Ability to work a 9-5 schedule in your time zone with some flexibility.
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 times per year if needed.

PREFERENCES
