Position: 211 Resource Specialist

Position

The role of the Resource Specialist is to develop, manage, and maintain relationships with all community health and human service agencies. Each Resource Specialist is responsible for entering, managing, and maintaining agency information in a resource database.

Collaborative Relationships:
United Way 2-1-1 Contact Center;
External Grant Partners; UWBG Funded Partner Agencies;
Resource Development and Marketing Departments;
External Health and Human Service Agencies.

Essential Functions
  • Researches, gathers, and analyzes information about community health and human services.
  • Active and persistent update and maintenance of community resources and community resource database.
  • Ensures quality and accuracy of resource database.
  • Develops reports, maps, and presentations on community resources.
  • Knowledgeable of human service system and maintain cooperative working relationships with area service providers.
  • Communicates changes in program services to United Way staff and volunteers.
  • Represents United Way Bluegrass at meetings, events, presentations, and other such activities as requested or required.
  • Attends and participates in all staff meetings.
  • Provides staff support at United Way functions and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • Minimum 1-3 years related experience in human service, non‑profit, or other related field (preferred) or sufficient combination of education and experience.
  • Remote work experience (preferred).

Work Environment

This position is 100% remote. The role requires abiding by the UWBG Remote work policy and establishing an effective telecommute workspace designed to limit distractions, with ergonomic seating, reliable connectivity, and equipment to enable high productivity. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc. A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable insured automobile are required for work‑related travel when applicable.
