Make an Impact on Youth Mental Health Through Nature Connection

Arizona's children and young people are facing a mental health crisis driven by excessive screen time and disconnection from nature. Research shows that outdoor experiences reduce anxiety, improve mood, and build resilience—but families struggle to find quality nature-based programs scattered across hundreds of organizations.

The Challenge We're Addressing

Research shows that outdoor experiences reduce anxiety, improve mood, and build resilience—but families struggle to find quality nature-based programs scattered across hundreds of organizations.

Your Role in the Solution

As a Calendar Content Coordinator volunteer, you'll be the bridge connecting Arizona families with life-changing outdoor experiences. By enhancing event listings on our comprehensive calendar, you're directly helping young people discover activities that can transform their mental and physical wellbeing.

What You'll Do Curate and Enhance Event Listings:
  • Review imported events from our 250+ conservation and environmental partner organizations
  • Add compelling descriptions that inspire families to attend
  • Source and add eye-catching photos that showcase the outdoor experience
  • Copy relevant details from partner websites to create complete, accurate listings
  • Let your creativity shine in writing descriptions that motivate people to get outdoors
The Impact

Every event you enhance reaches our community of 11,000+ followers and an average of 750 new website visitors each month. Your work directly contributes to getting kids outdoors, reducing screen time, and building the next generation of environmental stewards.

Ideal Volunteer Has
  • Passion for outdoor recreation and conservation
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm for helping families discover nature-based activities
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Basic computer skills (we'll teach you the rest!)
Bonus Skills (helpful but not required)
  • Word Press experience
  • Event Calendar Pro familiarity
  • Photography or graphic design background
  • Social media savvy
Time Commitment

Flexible hours based on your availability. Most volunteers contribute 3‑5 hours per week, though you can do more or less depending on your schedule.
