Consistent, uplifting communication builds momentum and turns supporters into lifelong champions for Oakland's children. Join us in sharing stories of impact, gratitude, and progress that keep donors and volunteers connected to the work their generosity makes possible.

The Storytelling & Newsletter Coordinator supports Children Rising's donor and volunteer communications by developing, formatting, and distributing engaging newsletter content that highlights program impact, donor stories, and timely updates for our community of supporters.

The You're Building Bridges of Hope newsletter goes out on schedule and feels engaging and meaningful — keeping donors and volunteers informed with clear updates, inspiring stories, and a genuine sense of the impact their support makes possible.

Time Commitment About five hours a week

Schedule Flexible; some tasks may align with tutoring clinic schedules and seasonal newsletter deadlines

Location Remote, with some onsite visits as needed

• Gather updates across programs and coordinate inputs from staff
• Assist with content development and light research for the monthly You're Building Bridges of Hope newsletter
• Support newsletter layout, formatting, and final review
• Extend the life of each newsletter story by adapting it for the website and social channels

A strong writer and communicator

Detail-oriented and organized

Comfortable with digital tools like Word Press, Constant Contact, and Canva

Reliable and collaborative

• Live Scan background clearance
• Negative TB status
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Maintain confidentiality and follow Children Rising's privacy guidelines
