For Women By Women, Period is a nonprofit organization fighting period poverty and changing the stigma that surrounds menstruation through proper education. We are a young team of diverse women who work closely together to grow the organization and expand our impact. Our mission is to provide access to menstrual products for those affected by period poverty through distribution, education and advocacy for menstrual equity.
We are looking for someone that can commit to doing 1‑3 hrs (minimum) of work weekly for events and remote work to meet the needs of your role.
This is an unpaid volunteer position; team members will learn valuable skills and experience in non‑profit work.
Position SummaryThe Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the organization, ensuring the efficient distribution of menstrual hygiene products, managing inventory and logistics, supporting volunteer engagement, and implementing systems that maximize community impact. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, mission‑driven, and passionate about advancing menstrual equity.
The Operations Manager serves as the operational backbone of the organization, collaborating with staff, volunteers, community partners, and corporate sponsors to ensure products reach individuals experiencing period poverty in a timely and dignified manner.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Logistics- Manage daily nonprofit operations and administrative functions.
- Develop and improve operational processes for efficiency and scalability.
- Coordinate product distribution to schools, shelters, food pantries, community organizations, and partner agencies.
- Oversee warehouse and storage organization.
- Ensure accurate inventory management.
- Monitor supply levels and reorder products as needed.
- Maintain distribution schedules and delivery logistics.
- Track product movement from donation to recipient.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Forecast product needs based on community demand.
- Coordinate incoming donations and product shipments.
- Conduct routine inventory audits.
- Ensure proper storage of menstrual hygiene products.
- Prepare inventory reports for leadership and funders.
Track organizational impact including:
- Products distributed
- Individuals served
- Volunteer hours
- Community partnerships
- Event participation
- Distribution locations
- Donation tracking
Prepare monthly and quarterly operational reports.
Budget & Purchasing- Manage operational budgets.
- Purchase organizational supplies.
- Obtain vendor quotes.
- Monitor operational expenses.
- Recommend cost‑saving opportunities.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of donated resources.
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public health, logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of operations, logistics, nonprofit management, or supply chain experience.
- Strong project management skills.
- Inventory management experience.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Willing to learn mindset
- Experience using CRM or donor management systems preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.
