Description:
The Volunteer Social Media Director is a part‑time, virtual position (5‑10 hours per month). This position is responsible for planning, creating, and managing social media content that promotes Peyton’s Promise’s mission, programs, and events. Monthly tasks include scheduling and developing content calendars, drafting posts for Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant channels. The role also involves monitoring engagement, responding to comments and messages, and optimizing posts to increase reach and community involvement.
The Volunteer Social Media Director collaborates with board, advocates, and community partners to highlight stories of impact, support fundraising initiatives, and maintain a consistent brand voice. This position would also collaborate, mentor, and guide our social media team of 5 high school leaders.
- Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) to manage and grow the organization’s online presence.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Public Relations skills to engage effectively with community members, partners, and media outlets.
- Candidates should possess skills in Content Strategy to plan and organize impactful social media campaigns and messaging.
- Experience with nonprofit or community‑based organizations is beneficial.
- Ability to work virtually and collaborate with volunteers, advocates, and board members.
- Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with major social media platforms and basic analytics tools are preferred.
