Job SummaryThe Assistant Director, Endurance and Community Events drives revenue goals by developing and executing high‑impact fundraising events that advance the Society’s mission. The role supports strategic planning, oversees event logistics, manages volunteer committees, and ensures exceptional donor and participant experiences, especially for Walk MS and Bike MS campaigns.
Location RequirementThis market‑based role supports the Midwest Region – Mid‑America Chapter. Mandatory in‑person attendance at meetings, constituent interactions, and events is required, with up to 50% travel. The remainder of the work is performed remotely from a home office or a National MS Society workspace. Preferred location: candidates must be based in or near Leawood, KS.
Compensation & BenefitsEstimated hiring compensation range: $60,000‑$65,000.

- Campaign Leadership & Execution:
Lead strategic planning and oversee execution, logistics, and optimization of assigned fundraising campaigns. - Revenue Accountability:
Act as a revenue driver, monitoring financial performance and adjusting strategies to meet portfolio goals. - Strategic Adaptation & Alignment:
Translate national campaign strategies into actionable local plans that fit market dynamics. - Donor & Volunteer Engagement:
Cultivate, solicit, and steward mid‑level fundraising teams, sponsors, and key volunteer leaders. - Performance Management & Data Analysis:
Analyze data trends, create donor profiles, and support stewardship and direct communication strategies using CRM systems. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Provide reports to leadership, identify growth opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives. - Maintain confidentiality and comply with data privacy regulations and policies.
- Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development support within a nonprofit or similar environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling donor communications and reports.
- Proficiency in donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with fundraising platforms is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor stewardship strategies, and event coordination.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
