If God has touched your heart about helping Deaf children living in poverty but you’re not sure exactly how to do that, we have the right program for you! Our new Ambassador Network program is a network of volunteers who live all over the United States. There is one common goal, to spread the word about the plight that faces Deaf children living in poverty as well as our child sponsor ships that help bring Deaf children a new found hope.
WHATIS THE AMBASSADOR NETWORK?
The network is a group of people who live all over the United States who all want to help get more Deaf children who live in impoverished conditions in developing countries, a monthly sponsorship. A monthly sponsorship is $43 per month and helps secure that child’s future at a school where they are safe and taken care of and an receive a free and appropriate education as well as language access in the Sign Language that is native to that country.
As well as community, the chance to build relationships and most importantly they get to learn about the gospel and the love that Jesus has for them.
The time commitment for being part of the team is flexible. We meet once a month for a 45–60-minute Zoom call to connect, collaborate, and share updates. Beyond that, we encourage each team member to actively work toward securing sponsor ships for Deaf children. There are many meaningful ways to do this—such as presenting at your church, Bible study, friend group, community club, school, or other public gathering places.
You can also support the mission by making phone calls, hosting an event, handing out flyers, inviting a group to your home for dessert, or simply having coffee with a friend to share the vision and invite them to sponsor a Deaf child.
The Deaf Child Hope International home office is in Omaha Metro (Papillon) Nebraska. Once you are onboarded as an Ambassador then we will send you a welcome email with links to all of the training materials and then schedule an onboarding training with the Ambassador Network Program coordinator, Sue Wolter, who is on staff will make sure that the materials you will need for presentations are provided to you electronically and other items will be mailed to you from the home office.
In addition to that it would be helpful if you had a carrying case or tote bag to keep everything organized and ready to go in. Lastly, not required but helpful, order a DCH T-shirt or some other merchandise of your choosing at our online store so you can act as a walking bill-board for the mission of Providing Hope to Deaf Children in Poverty!
