The Massachusetts Chapter believes in flexibility and as such, team members are working in a hybrid model. This position is full-time and based in Massachusetts. This position has an option of working from home or from our Boston office, with the expectation of regular time in the Boston office for team meetings and events. The Development Program Manager is a strategic partner on The Nature Conservancy's Massachusetts fundraising team, providing the data, systems, coordination, and donor insights that help drive successful fundraising outcomes. Working closely with frontline fundraisers, the Development Program Manager supports prospect management, donor strategy development, research, stewardship planning, pipeline management, reporting, and performance tracking. This role, reporting to the Senior Development Program manager, serves as a central resource for the team, helping to strengthen collaboration, improve fundraising effectiveness, and ensure donor opportunities are advanced in a timely and strategic manner.

The Development Program Manager also partners with colleagues across Massachusetts, the Northeast Division, and the broader Conservancy to support donor discovery, information sharing, and coordinated fundraising strategies for key conservation priorities. Success in this role directly contributes to the team's ability to identify, engage, solicit, and steward donors who advance The Nature Conservancy's mission in Massachusetts and beyond.

The Development Program Manager will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the team by implementing tactics for approved plans as well as completing and organizing varied tasks and activities. Responsibilities include serving as a data management resource for Fundraisers/Relationship Managers (RMs), and working to ensure the timely cultivation, solicitation, follow up, data entry and tracking of new and current portfolio donors.

They maintain a donor tracking system aligned with the BBCRM database including fundraising reports, regular check-in calls with RMs and ad hoc reports as needed. This role will ensure updated donor information is managed within the database, produce reports, perform analysis and track donors. They serve as the primary resource for fundraisers seeking support with systems, reporting, donor information, portfolio management, and cross-functional coordination.

The Development Program Manager is responsible for vetting and tracking leads and identify priorities based on the needs of multiple programs or areas of focus and perform complex analysis on key organizational data, including donor or gift information. The Manager must maintain advanced skills with the systems and resources utilized by the team to execute tasks and provide direction to programs they are assigned to work with.

They will implement processes and practices to improve effectiveness based on their in-depth understanding of related policies and procedures. The Manager will effectively and proactively communicate or distribute information to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow and influence RM best practices.
