F&B Vendor Internship — Remote​/Onsite (Fall 2026

Overview

Cultural Survival's internship program creates opportunities for mentorship, learning, and development in the nonprofit sector, focusing on Indigenous rights, lands, languages, and cultures. This internship is within the Bazaar Program and includes fall 2026 opportunities in a remote and on-site setting, unpaid volunteer capacity, with a daily/weekly time commitment as described below.

• Intern’s expenses: Remote internship with a one-time stipend of $500 to cover phone, electricity, internet, materials, and related costs

Focus:
Food & Beverage Vendor coordination. Cultural Survival’s Bazaar Program is a cultural festival with a long history of supporting Indigenous artists and fair-trade vendors, aligned with our mission to defend Indigenous rights and livelihoods. The Bazaar showcases crafts, performances, and direct engagement with makers and community advocates.

We are accepting applications for a remote internship opportunity for Fall 2026 within our Bazaar Program. The selected intern will report to the Bazaar Program Manager, and the initial internship length is 3 months.

This internship supports the Bazaar Program with a focus on vendor coordination, outreach, onboarding, event preparation, and maintaining organized administrative systems. The intern will help with vendor research, follow-up communications, compliance documentation, surveys, data collection, and evaluation efforts to strengthen future programming and community engagement.

The ideal candidate is comfortable in collaborative, multicultural environments, can manage multiple tasks, and communicates professionally with vendors, partners, and team members. Key qualities include strong organizational skills, attention to detail, empathy, adaptability, initiative, and an interest in community work, cultural events, and food sovereignty initiatives. Fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred; additional languages are an asset.

• Enhance research proficiency to identify and analyze potential food & beverage vendors
• Improve written and verbal communication with diverse vendors and supporting initiatives
• Develop ability to organize and manage a comprehensive vendor database
• Prioritize tasks, set deadlines, and manage time for efficient workflow
• Gain experience supporting food sovereignty initiatives within a nonprofit environment

• Maintain and regularly update the food & beverage vendors database for accuracy
• Send timely follow-up emails to prospective, interested, and participating vendors
• Attend vendor meetings and support coordination for smooth communication and execution
• Assist in organizing and tracking permits, licenses, and participation requirements for compliance
• Support research on local food regulations and event compliance standards
• Collaborate with the Food Sovereignty Project evaluation process
• Analyze survey results and participant feedback; prepare summaries and reports
• Identify potential new vendors aligned with Cultural Survival’s mission and Bazaar goals
• Provide administrative and logistical support for Bazaar events

Weekly time commitment: average of 15 hours per week. Cultural Survival will accommodate academic commitments and provide opportunities for a monthly mentorship session within this department. Upon successful completion, the intern will receive a certificate of completion.
