Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement Associate

This position is eligible for up to one day remote work per week.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Salve Regina University seeks a relationship-driven professional to engage alumni and families in meaningful ways that inspire lifelong connection and philanthropic support, with a strong emphasis on annual giving. Through personal visits, virtual meetings, events, and targeted outreach, this role builds authentic relationships by listening to alumni experiences, sharing timely university updates and funding priorities, and creating pathways for involvement. As a key member of the Advancement team, this position is responsible for securing annual gifts, engaging volunteers, and strengthening alumni affinity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster a collaborative and empowering work environment rooted in Salve Regina University's Mercy mission: demonstrate empathic leadership through the positive engagement of Advancement team members and campus partners.
- Manage a portfolio of alumni to build meaningful relationships that increase engagement, affinity, and annual giving; conduct outreach through in-person visits, Zoom meetings, events, and personalized communications.
- Actively solicit and secure annual gifts from alumni, meeting established fundraising goals and performance metrics.
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned alumni and for identified affinity groups, by sharing timely and relevant university updates, strengthening their connection to Salve Regina's mission, priorities, and impact.
- Identify, cultivate, and support alumni involvement as volunteers, including participation in events, committees, and other engagement opportunities.
- Partner with Advancement colleagues to strategically refer alumni for deeper philanthropic conversations, including major gifts and planned giving opportunities.
- Support the planning and execution of Reunion programming, with a focus on driving alumni participation and reunion giving outcomes.
- Collaborate with Advancement team members to meet divisional goals related to alumni engagement, event participation, and fundraising performance
- As part of the Advancement team work toward meeting the goals of the division, including fund raising and alumni participation in giving and event attendance. .
- Develop and implement creative strategies to enhance alumni outreach, strengthen relationships, and increase participation in giving and engagement opportunities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as required by Associate Director of Affinity Givingand the VP for University Advancement.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Valid driver's license.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Requirements:Required:
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- One year of fundraising or equivalent leadership/public speaking/sales experience
- Salve Regina University graduates are encouraged to apply
- Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter, flexible, dedicated, conscientious and people-oriented with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Must be willing to travel alone or with colleagues, and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Strong computer skills required including knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
Preferred:
- Two or more years of fundraising or admissions experience in a university setting.
- Salve Regina University graduate.
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge.
