The Online Ministry Leader is a strategic, high-impact role that provides strategy, structure, and shepherding for Abundant Life’s online ministry expressions in support of the church house movement and multiplication. This leader oversees online operations, builds systems and playbooks, develops and cares for volunteers, and personally engages online participants toward clear next steps in discipleship and community. Relationally gifted and missionally convicted, this person launches new online expressions, removes roadblocks, and helps bridge online engagement into church houses and online participants while fostering ongoing spiritual growth.
PersonalResponsibilities
- Be committed to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 2:2) by assembling for instruction in God’s Word and engaging in the personal study of God’s Word.
- Responsibly use the resources at your disposal to foster the mission and vision of Abundant Life (1 Peter 5:1-4).
- Participate in an Abundant Life group (Acts 2:41-42) as well as the discipleship ministry (Matthew 28:18-20).
- Live in a way that glorifies God and aligns with the staff core values (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).
- Be committed to giving to the needs of the saints (2 Corinthians 8:1-7 & 9:12).
- Become a member of Abundant Life.
- Oversee the strategy, structure, systems, and day-to-day operations of Online Ministries in alignment with church vision and Multiplication Department initiatives.
- Champion Online Ministries as an essential expression of Abundant Life’s mission, serving as a bridge into discipleship, community, church house participation, and multiplication.
- Lead the development and launch of new online ministry initiatives, identifying opportunities, solving problems, and building scalable systems that support church house growth and multiplication.
- Manage online ministry calendars, scheduling, logistics, and platform operations, including Zoom account management, volunteer access, and host scheduling.
- Maintain accurate ministry records in Rock, including registrations, background checks, groups, and serve teams.
- Coordinate with Central Services for ministry cycle launches such as D1, Castles, and Growing Kids God’s Way through website updates, promotion, registration, onboarding, and follow-up.
- Translate church-wide initiatives into effective online and church house expressions through communication, physical materials, and resource distribution.
- Partner with Communications, Central Services, and the Multiplication team to ensure Online Ministries are clearly represented across church platforms and accessible within church houses.
- Collaborate with the Multiplication Pastor and Ministry Directors to evaluate current ministry effectiveness, anticipate future needs, and plan new initiatives that strengthen discipleship pathways and multiplication efforts.
- Build, refine, and maintain a ministry playbook and standard operating procedures for consistent execution of Online Ministries.
- Identify roadblocks to online ministry effectiveness and bring proactive solutions and recommendations to the Multiplication Pastor
. - Steward the Online Ministries budget in alignment with ministry priorities, approved spending plans, and future growth opportunities.
- Participate in annual and ongoing ministry planning, helping forecast resource needs, operational improvements, and strategic priorities for upcoming ministry cycles.
- Maintain regular check-ins with key online ministry leaders and volunteers, providing intentional care, encouragement, and spiritual shepherding.
- Recruit, develop, and lead online ministry volunteers with defined roles, clear expectations, and ongoing support.
- Personally engage online participants through consistent follow-up, care, and relational presence, helping them take meaningful next steps in discipleship.
- Identify online participants who are ready for physical community and facilitate intentional handoffs to physical locations (i.e. campuses and church houses).
