The Grants & Development Coordinator coordinates Crittenton Services of Greater Washington's fundraising and institutional advancement activities, with a primary focus on grant writing and management, donor stewardship, development operations, fundraising communications, and revenue-generating initiatives.
Working closely with the President & CEO, program staff, finance, and external partners, this position identifies funding opportunities, prepares compelling proposals and reports, maintains the organization's grants and development calendar, tracks fundraising activity, and strengthens relationships with institutional and individual funders.
This is a hybrid position with flexibility for remote work. The employee must be available for in-person meetings, funder engagements, events, and organizational needs approximately one to two days per week, as required.
The ideal candidate is an excellent writer, highly organized, deadline-driven, resourceful, and able to manage multiple funding opportunities simultaneously. This position is an immediate need.
Key Responsibilities Grants & Institutional Funding- Research foundation, corporate, government, and other institutional funding opportunities aligned with Crittenton's mission and programs.
- Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar, including application, reporting, renewal, and compliance deadlines.
- Draft and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, applications, and supporting materials.
- Coordinate with program and finance staff to obtain program data, outcomes, budgets, financial information, and other required materials.
- Prepare and submit timely grant reports and renewal applications.
- Maintain organized electronic records of proposals, awards, agreements, reports, and funder correspondence.
- Track grant deliverables, reporting requirements, and funding restrictions.
- Monitor funding opportunities and maintain a pipeline of prospective funders.
- Coordinate implementation of Crittenton's annual fundraising and development activities.
- Maintain donor, funder, sponsor, and prospect records.
- Research prospective individual, corporate, foundation, and community partners.
- Coordinate donor acknowledgments and stewardship communications.
- Develop donor communications, sponsorship requests, fundraising appeals, and campaign materials.
- Coordinate cultivation and stewardship activities for current and prospective funders.
- Prepare briefing materials for the President & CEO and board members ahead of donor, sponsor, and funder meetings.
- Track donor and funder follow-up to ensure timely communication and stewardship.
- Coordinate development activities related to fundraising events, donor engagement opportunities, and organizational campaigns.
- Coordinate sponsorship solicitation, tracking, recognition, and fulfillment.
- Develop and maintain development-related communications and materials.
- Work with program staff to collect participant stories, outcomes, photographs, testimonials, and impact information for fundraising purposes.
- Coordinate donor and sponsor recognition associated with organizational events and campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records of grants, donations, prospects, sponsor ships, and development activity.
- Produce regular reports on proposals submitted, funding awarded, upcoming deadlines, donor activity, and fundraising progress.
- Track development goals, revenue projections, grant pipelines, and outstanding funding requests.
- Maintain organized development files and documentation.
- Provide the President & CEO with regular updates on funding opportunities, deadlines, submissions, awards, and development priorities.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- 2–4 years of nonprofit development, grant writing, fundraising, communications, or related experience.
