JEWISH FEDERATION OF GREATER TOLEDO

A minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher education and at least two years of experience in a direct service or related field are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong computer proficiency, are essential. Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel locally, as needed. A valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of current automobile insurance are required.

Mileage reimbursement is provided for approved work-related travel. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with nonprofit donor management software is preferred. As the “front door” of the agency, a gracious, welcoming, and customer-focused demeanor is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be adaptable, able to remain composed under pressure, and demonstrate initiative as a flexible team player.

Must maintain strict confidentiality, effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, and exercise sound independent judgment when appropriate. Experience working with adults age 60 and older is preferred. Knowledge of Jewish religion, values, and culture is a plus. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This position is primarily onsite and is not eligible for a flexible, work-from-home arrangement.

REPORTING

RELATIONSHIPS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is supervised directly by VP Jewish Senior, Family & Social Service but shall have reporting and working relationships with the JSFSS Social Workers and other JFGT departments, as assigned.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Sekach Building reception area, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and secure experience for clients, visitors, volunteers, and community partners while managing building access.
  • Promote the safe and efficient operation of the Sekach Building by maintaining situational awareness and collaborating with the Security Director on safety and security protocols.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for JFGT and JSFSS programs and events, including maintaining the JSFSS calendar and coordinating activities held within the Sekach Building.
  • Coordinate daily Food Pantry operations, including purchasing, inventory management, client distribution, administration of the Meijer Simply Give program, and oversight of other food pantry funding resources.
  • Support community partner organizations (including Bethany House, Center of Hope, and Hillel) by coordinating food pantry resources and maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Process and manage monthly client care subsidy invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Record and process contributions, memorial gifts, and tribute donations, as assigned.
  • Maintain efficient office operations by managing common areas, office procedures, correspondence, filing systems, supplies, and equipment for the Sekach Building.
  • Provide administrative support to the VP of JSFSS and the Social Work team, as assigned.
  • Maintain and update Food Pantry policies and procedures and ensure client compliance with program guidelines.
  • Coordinate and support community food drives and other Food Pantry benefit initiatives in partnership with community organizations.
  • Manage the planning, preparation, and distribution of holiday food packages for assigned Jewish holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned that are reasonably related to JFGT’s mission and within the general competencies and expectations for the OFPM role as determined by the VP of JSFSS and the Chief Executive Officer.
