TCP Youth Empowerment (TCP), also known as The Complete Player Charity, is a nonprofit organization focused on shrinking the education and opportunity gap in northern Anne Arundel County. TCP designs programs that “Unleash the Leader Within” young people by building character, confidence, emotional intelligence, and providing pathways to academic and life success. The Academic & Emotional Mentoring program uses an innovative model to improve both academic performance and emotional well-being for elementary school youth.
The TCP Young Leaders program offers middle school students career readiness experiences in business, entrepreneurship, leadership, robotics, coding, esthetics, and woodworking. Through community-focused business plan competitions and hands-on learning, TCP helps youth develop essential soft skills while creating lasting impact in their communities.
The Grant Writer, Sr. Specialist is a full-time hybrid role based in Glen Burnie, MD, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, conducting prospect research, and maintaining an active pipeline of potential grantors. The individual will draft, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents that align with TCP’s mission, programs, and strategic priorities.
Day-to-day tasks include managing grant calendars and deadlines, coordinating with program and finance staff to gather accurate data, and ensuring compliance with all grant requirements and reporting timelines. The role also involves tracking outcomes, preparing progress and impact reports for funders, strengthening relationships with foundations and other funding partners, and supporting broader fundraising initiatives as needed.
- Candidates should possess strong Grant Writing and Proposal Writing skills, with demonstrated experience creating clear, persuasive, and mission-aligned narratives.
- Candidates should possess Grant Administration skills, including managing grant life cycles, tracking deadlines, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
- Candidates should possess Prospect Research skills, including identifying new funding sources, analyzing funder priorities, and matching opportunities to organizational programs.
- Candidates should possess Fundraising skills related to grants, such as collaborating on development strategies, supporting donor stewardship, and aligning proposals with revenue goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management) or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- Experience working with or within youth development, education, or nonprofit organizations is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with standard office software and grant management tools, and the ability to work effectively in both in-person and remote environments.
